How to Read the Schedule

  • The gray hatch area is a major feature of PHOENIX, and is the time when experienced Thai and Japanese trainers are on hand to provide mitt training for members. This is done only at the stadium.
    There, you can do the same training as in a real Muay Thai gym.
    If you are in the gray hatch area, you can come and train at your own convenience.
    PHOENIX calls it Muay Thai training.
    On weekdays, we start at 7:00 a.m.
  • In addition to Muay Thai training, the area with colored hatches every hour is a joint class lesson time for all participants with an experienced instructor.
    By exercising together, all participants will be able to communicate and feel a sense of solidarity. There is a wide variety of class content, so please find a class you like.
    Detailed introductions to both Muay Thai training and class lessons can be found at the bottom of this page.
  • White spaces with no class names denote free training time. There is no punching mitt training at this time, but instructors are always there to guide you, so please practice freely.
  • For instructor details, please see this page.
  • You will be able to do self-training such as stretching, physical training, and cool down in the free space, however, for self-training that might make noise (jump rope, heavy bag training, etc.) it may bother other members participating in classes, so we ask that you refrain from doing these activities in that space.
  • Please use this PDF file if you cannot see the image easily. Instructors may change their schedules. Please check for any notices on the homepage.
  • Please Note: Yoga class is only available on Sundays, and will not be available on national holidays. Please pay attention to this schedule if you plan to attend a yoga class. Additionally, if Sundays and national holidays overlap, the yoga class will still be held.

Our Programs

PHOENIX’s intent is to make sure every member has fun, and according to our mission, we create a variety of programs. Whether you are looking to lose weight, enhance muscle endurance, tone your muscles, improve your balance and flexibility, relieve stress, or boost confidence, PHOENIX’s programs cover them all.
All classes are group lessons taught by instructors. In addition, Muay Thai Training serves as free self-training time. We pay attention to our members who have given feedback such as “It’s difficult to plan a training program by myself” or “I need to have an answer immediately,” so we decided to have an instructor at the gym at all times to help you.
Muay Thai training is a program, to teach the complicated martial art of Muay Thai with a Japanese approach.

1. Muay Thai Training

Muay Thai Training Reservations are not required. You can train at your own pace at your convenience.
Free training of 3 minutes per round.
You can consult with the instructor to create a menu that suits you, and train in stretching, shadowboxing, sandbagging, and more.
You can train at a time that is convenient for you according to your lifestyle and features flexible instruction tailored to your individual level.

In addition, since you can train at your own pace, this style of training can be enjoyed by everyone from beginners to advanced fighters.
PHOENIX has invited two exclusive Muay Thai trainers from Thailand, so you can learn the real Muay Thai style.
During the training, the instructor will give you two rounds of one-on-one mitts (3 minutes per round, 3 minutes per round, 3 minutes per round, 3 minutes per round). (3 minutes per round, 30 seconds interval)

Professional fighters enrolled and training at PHOENIX include former world and Japanese champions and Japanese rankers who are active in various organizations.
Amateur fighters also participate in a total of more than 50 amateur tournaments every year, with a win rate of more than 65%.
The essence of becoming stronger can be found in this Muay Thai training.

Mitt Trial Class(Beginner level class) The regular free trial class we offer at PHOENIX is a class lesson together with the general membership, but this class is exclusively for those who are trying out the class for free.
This class was newly established in December 2020 for those who have no experience in kickboxing and are visiting the gym for the first time, so that they can participate in the class without feeling behind or being intimidated by the atmosphere or surroundings.

Note: Gloves can be borrowed for free.

2. Class Lessons

Class Lessons Under the guidance of a veteran instructor, you will work out with other members, so you will not be alone and you will continue to work hard and stay motivated.
To meet the various needs of our members, we offer nine different programs for class lessons. People with the same goals can focus on their lessons in the same environment, which allows them to train efficiently.
In addition, by having all participants train on the same menu, the instructor is able to provide detailed and careful explanations of each movement, allowing for efficient learning.

Furthermore, getting together at the same time every week to sweat it out with your buddies is an exhilarating way to experience a sense of togetherness!

Note: Currently, all class lessons are by appointment only in order to avoid dense conditions as a measure against infectious diseases.

Performing yoga poses strengthens the internal muscles, called inner muscles, throughout the body and corrects physical distortions.
It is also said that regular yoga practice stimulates the internal organs, which helps to remove toxins from the body.
Furthermore, yoga breathing exercises can relax the body and mind.
By thoroughly removing fatigue over the weekend, you can start the week with a refreshed mind and body from Monday.

Foam roller stretching exercises for stiff shoulderムービーを見る This class is designed to relieve stiff shoulders, stiff necks, and other physical discomforts by using stretch poles to loosen myofascia and improve blood flow throughout the body. You will have a comfortable time to look at your own body and realize how stiff and painful it is. The simple movements are ideal for those who are not good at exercising or for those who are new to kickboxing. It is also recommended for those who want to improve their body flexibility and the quality of their sleep.

Note: Stretching poles can be borrowed for free.

Martial Arts Shape Classムービーを見る Following the music’s rhythm, punching and blocking with your elbows tones your upper body, while with your knees slightly bent, you’re strengthening your lower body, and by twisting the waist, you can help tone the entire body.
By the time you master the movements, you will get a toned and well-shaped body.
Note: Gloves are not necessary. There is no mitt or heavy bag training.
There is no direct contact such as hitting sandbags or mitts, so women are welcome to join.

Trunk/core training A current pole dance instructor will teach you how to train your core and how to use it in an easy-to-understand way!

By training the trunk, you can improve basal metabolism and tone the body. (The trunk muscles do not expand greatly, making them ideal for women!) It can provide many benefits, such as preventing limb injuries and back pain, improving posture, and enhancing performance in other sports.

In the lessons, we not only train the core but also practice consciously using the trained muscles and carefully and clearly teach how to use them in different movements than when training, so the content can be enjoyed by a wide range of people, from beginners in muscle training to those who usually do machine training.

We also include moderate stretching exercises to expand the range of motion, which is essential for muscle training, and we will have different menus every week so that you can train without getting bored.

TRX Suspension Training TRX Suspension Training is a system developed by Randy Hetrick, Commander of the U.S. Navy SEALs, to maintain the strength and condition of the personnel and himself to ensure mission readiness. The first training course for civilian use was developed in 2004 and established as a training system that uses body weight and gravity as a load, using a special sling (TRX). Unlike weight training, this system allows for training with movement that makes use of one’s own body weight, and can be expected to tighten not only the entire body, but also individual body parts.

2-B. Kickboxing Classes

The goal is to develop the physical strength and skills necessary for kickboxing.

Basic Kickboxing(Beginner level)ムービーを見る This class teaches basic kickboxing techniques and combinations, as well as simple defensive techniques.
In this class, you will learn a complete range of kickboxing techniques.
You will be able to shadow box smoothly in front of a mirror with the image of your opponent using the techniques you learn in this class.
You will also be able to react better to defenses by being able to receive mitts at the right time.

Beginner Sparring Class(Beginner level class) This class is designed for those who have never practiced against others before so that they can progress to practicing against others.
This class is intended for those who have participated in the basic kickboxing class 3-5 times (depending on the individual) and are able to do basic jabs, straight, hooks, and middle kicks without thinking.
We will practice basic defensive methods, how to move in practice, and footwork from the beginning, including game elements. The class will continue with practice of receiving and returning in pairs, and will end with light touch practice against a light opponent.
This class is recommended for those who are completely new to practical practice and for those who want to review basic techniques.

Note: Shin guards can be borrowed for free.

Basic Sparring Class(Intermediate level class)ムービーを見る This class is for those who are not yet used to sparring.
You need to wear sparring gear and spar with a partner.

You will practice offense and defense back and forth with your partner, increasing your defense reaction until you can smoothly combine every part of the practice. While practicing defense, when you get used to the feeling as you hold the mitts and to your partner’s timing, your skills can improve.

Note: Shin guards can be borrowed for free.

Kickboxing Application Class

This class helps you learn kickboxing’s practical techniques and gain physical strength for combo training.
As with any technique or combo training, if your basic skills can’t be used accurately, quickly, and strongly, it will not work for actual fighting.

The purpose of this class is to make your moves more accurate, faster, and stronger. You can acquire skills and combinations that can work even in actual fighting.

Note: If you have experience at other gyms, participating in the basic class once you acquire the basic movement at PHOENIX makes it easier to understand the guidance of this class.

Class flow:
Shadow boxing → Heavy bag, mitts, defense, etc., practice exercises with partner → Physical training.

Sparring Application Class(Advanced level class)ムービーを見る In this class, you can learn defense basics and useful offense techniques for necessary sparring skills.
Wear sparring gear, repeat combos with a partner, and light mass sparring.

Please keep in mind for sparring you should keep calm and notice your opponent’s movements. In shadowboxing, imagine an opponent’s movement and practice moving smoothly for actual sparring and matches.

Note: Gloves for sparring and shin guards can be borrowed for free.

PHOENIX Approximate classes that can be attended at each level of fitness and skill

PHOENIX offers three levels of kickboxing classes in order to maintain and improve the quality of the lessons and the physical fitness and skills of the participants.
Please refer to the following for class placement and participation criteria.

Beginner level class
This class is designed for those who want to learn the basics of kickboxing, from basic offense and defense to combinations, and to learn how to shadowbox smoothly.
Participation criteria: Anyone can participate (even those with no kickboxing experience). (No previous kickboxing experience is necessary)

Intermediate level class
This class is designed for those who have learned the basics of kickboxing and want to practice free training and exchanging kicks with opponents.
This class is designed for those who have learned the basics of kickboxing and want to improve their ability to smoothly perform combinations and defense.
Participation criteria: Participants must have attended Basic and Sparring Beginner classes at least 10 times.
  • Basic Sparring Class
Advanced level class
This course is designed for those who can shadow box smoothly and can hold a mitt with their own direction.
The class is designed for those who can improve their basic physical fitness, learn practical offensive techniques and combinations, and become able to calmly defend against an opponent’s attack in sparring.
This class is designed to improve basic fitness, learn practical offensive techniques and combinations, and learn how to calmly defend against an opponent’s attack in sparring sessions.
Participation criteria: Participants must have attended Basic, Sparring Beginner, and Sparring Basic classes at least 20 times.
